The Toro variant
of the Lada Niva was a sports version of the Niva developed in the
early 1990's by Lada Australia, located in Melbourne at the time.
Riding on the back of a kind of popularity wave, Lada Australia
developed several dressed up Niva's, the Toro being one of them.
The main features were:
- HALTEC
Multipoint EFI (developing a massive 62 kw)
- 15"
Mullens Alloy Mag Wheels & Yokohama Super Diggers
- Wheel
carrier
- Magnificent
red paint with bull decals
- Custom
red cloth upholstery
- Fiber
glass wheel flares & vent covers
- Map
pockets
- Old
Man Emu shocks in the back.
In addition
to the above, my 1992 Toro came from the factory with:
- Alloy
bull bar
- Side
steps
- Air
conditioning
- Weather
shield
- Sun
roof.
Below
is a photo of the interior and the engine. There are photos of a
trip I made to Woomera, South Australia and a couple of 'off road'
shots.
